Mossman is a very typical North Queensland country town. It is a charming regional centre for the surrounding sugar cane industry, and has a distinctly rural feel with a lush green background of surrounding vegetation. If you want to see older style North Queensland architecture, try driving down a few of the back roads in Mossman itself. The highlight of the area is Mossman Gorge; traditionally home of the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people. The Gorge is an absolutely stunning site and is a very accessible section of the Daintree National Park.
